Gurugram, 28th September: The night sky came alive at Richmond Park, DLF Phase 4, as Skygaze India conducted a captivating telescope observation event for the residents. With over 100 enthusiastic participants, the session turned the society premises into an open-air space classroom filled with excitement, curiosity, and awe.
Residents of all age groups gathered to observe the Moon’s craters, Saturn’s majestic rings, and a sky full of stars through professional telescopes — an experience that left both children and adults spellbound.
Nothing captured the spirit of the evening better than the reactions of the youngest participants. A young resident shared with unfiltered excitement: “I really loved it! It was the best experience ever, especially seeing the craters of the Moon.” Two more children, Vivan and Arya, joyfully added: “Today we saw the Moon and Saturn. It was pretty nice — we saw the craters and the rings of Saturn.”
Their words perfectly echoed the sense of discovery Skygaze India strives to ignite in young minds. Resident Neerav described the evening as, “A wonderful event — I enjoyed it very much.”
These reflections highlight the growing interest in experiential science activities within urban communities, and reinforce the purpose of Skygaze India’s outreach — to make astronomy approachable and enjoyable for everyone.
Skygaze India continues to bring astronomy closer to households, schools, organizations, and public spaces. Through telescope observation sessions, astronomy workshops, Skygaze Academy, and astrotourism initiatives, the organization aims to democratize space education and inspire curiosity across all age groups.
Events like the one at Richmond Park demonstrate the transformative power of hands-on learning in igniting curiosity, strengthening community ties, and making science a shared celebration.
